About Steve Wargo
Steve is a furniture maker in the Greater Cleveland
Ohio area. He has been building furniture for the better part of 9 years. While generally classified as a studio furniture maker, Steve has
an affection for the straight lines and accurate joinery found in Shaker
and Mission style furniture and a keen eye for the details attributed to Federal Period furniture. With a strong engineering and design background,
he works hand in hand with clients to produce unique, usable pieces
of artwork built to last many generations.
My Philosophy is simple... produce fine furniture, not
for the mass market, but for people who know the difference between
handmade and production furniture. I produce a wide variety of pieces
ranging from custom boxes to built-in fireplace surrounds. I build
furniture with traditional methods using few if any power tools, with
strong concentration on accurate joinery, to create a piece that will
last many lifetimes. Every piece that leaves my shop is signed and
dated with the customers name and makers name. I take the time needed
to select the finest veneers and most choice pieces of lumber, often traveling great distances to obtain them. No corners are cut in the creation of your furniture, and only the finest hardware is used in all applcations, often milled in shop. After all, heirloom
furniture must withstand the test of time to be completely appreciated.
